The Newton YMCA will host its free, annual Senior Health and Fitness Fair tomorrow morning. The Fitness Coordinator at the YMCA, Sarah Pittman, says it’s a great opportunity for seniors to meet local vendors and see what they have to offer. There will also be two free presentations.
“At 8:30 a.m. we have Aimee Spores, the Director of Hospice and Palliative Care at WesleyLife, talking about palliative care services for Jasper County residents. This is a new opportunity that Jasper County has to get in-home kinds of care. Then at 9:00 a.m. we will have Dr. Patrick Edwards talk about what is new in memory care.”
Pittman says vendor booths will open at 8 a.m. tomorrow. That’s also when a free breakfast sponsored by Park Centre will begin. Raffle prizes from the vendors will also be given away during the two hour event.
