CASPER, Wyo. — Health and fitness enthusiasts in the Casper area have a new gym to utilize, as Hustle Health and Performance celebrated its grand opening on Friday.
The gym is owned and operated by Malachi and Ashlee Bennett, the latter of whom also runs Empowered Hustle and Fitness, a women-only gym in town.
Hustle Health and Performance, located at 418 S. Oak St., resides in what was formerly Caliber Fitness. When the Caliber owners approached the pair and asked if they would be interested in taking over the facility, Malachi said there was some deliberation involved.
“I would be lying if I said we weren’t hesitant,” he said with a chuckle. “We talked about it for a couple months. We weren’t sure if we wanted to do it at all, turn this into Empowered and that spot into something else, or what. We definitely considered a bunch of ideas.”
Eventually, the pair decided to take over the business and turn it into a co-ed gym that will complement Empowered. Ashlee said the two gyms will team up in offering couples classes, dual memberships and more.
Gym members can expect a variety of classes and personal training opportunities, as well as state-of-the-art athletic and fitness training equipment. Malachi said that members can expect coaches and personal trainers with a wide breadth of expertise.
Looking to the future, the duo plan on also offering youth programs to help get children active and exercising in a fun, safe environment.
Hustle Health and Performance will also feature several amenities and services, including a partnership with Evoke Health.
“They’ll incorporate nutrition and medical [services] into the gym with things like blood work testing and hormone testing,” Ashlee said. “To be able to provide that with someone we trust is huge, and I think it’s something pretty unique.”
Melissa Hieb with Evoke Health said the Oak Street gym will have an office that can provide consultations, and will also be able to send clients to Evoke for more involved work. Additionally, people will be able to purchase health and nutrition products and sign up for Evoke Health membership packages at the gym.
“The main thing at the gym will be our nutrition products that are all natural and organic,” she said. “They come along with a program to help people optimize their health.”
The gym will be open Monday through Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with classes throughout the day.
“This is something we’re both really passionate about, and we’re excited to take this step,” Ashlee said. “What they say is true: that if you love what you do, you never really work a day in your life.”
