24 Hour Fitness Teams Up With Action for Healthy Kids

The amenity-rich gym chain and the nonprofit are collaborating on open gym days and wellness resources to inspire healthier habits and increased physical activity

24 Hour Fitness has partnered with the nonprofit Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) for a series of community-based “open gym days” held next month at 24 Hour Fitness clubs across the country and to create wellness resources for schools and communities at large.

The gym chain’s free, family-friendly open gym days will kick off in Irvine, California, Denver, Colorado and Dallas, Texas, on May 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering guided group fitness classes, hands-on wellness stations and the chance to connect with fitness coaches.

“This partnership was driven by our employees’ strong desire to give back to the communities we serve and to make a tangible impact beyond our club walls,” 24 Hour Fitness president and CEO Karl Sanft said. “We know how important it is to help families build healthy routines early on, and partnering with Action for Healthy Kids allows us to support that mission in a hands-on, meaningful way. We’re proud to provide interactive events, practical resources and opportunities for our teams to get involved in ways that truly make a difference.”

On May 1, Sanft and Raphael Konforti, senior director of fitness business and operations, will host a virtual webinar offering insights on how families can integrate health into their daily lives.

24 Hour Fitness is the perfect partner for us to grow our shared mission of building healthier futures for children,” Action for Healthy Kids CEO Rob Bisceglie said. “Together, we’re making fitness more accessible, fun and sustainable by meeting families where they are and encouraging daily movement through school partnerships and community engagement.”
