Rio Linda, CA – Get ready to move and have some fun! Sacramento County Regional Parks is excited to celebrate Family Health & Fitness Day this Saturday, June 14th, with a fantastic lineup of free, family-friendly events right here in the Rio Linda Elverta community! This national initiative highlights the vital role parks and recreation play in building healthier, more connected communities, and we’re thrilled to bring these opportunities to our residents.
“Family Health and Fitness Day is all about encouraging people to enjoy the outdoors and make movement a part of everyday life. We want people to explore our parks and have fun together.”
Liz Bellas, Sacramento County Regional Parks Director
Studies consistently show that living close to parks and having access to green spaces improves both physical and mental health. Just 20 minutes a day outdoors can reduce stress, and 93% of U.S. adults report improved mental health from local park services.
