After weeks of sales, Black Friday 2024 is almost over. Until midnight on Cyber Monday, scores of the biggest retailers in the UK will be hosting their biggest discounts of the season.
In this guide, we’ll tell you which retailers to shop with this evening across fitness, technology, menswear and grooming, exactly how to hunt down the best deals, and how to shop smart this Cyber Monday.
Best Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals 2024
With the Black Friday weekend now almost over, here’s a collection of the best deals still on offer across tech, health and fitness, grooming and menswear.
List of UK Retailers’ Black Friday Sales
Whether you’re shopping for fitness tech, a new winter wardrobe or equipment to build up your home gym, here’s a list of the best Black Friday retailers’ sales.
When Does Black Friday End?
This year, Black Friday fell on Friday 29 November. The sales continued throughout the Cyber Weekend and are set to end midnight on Cyber Monday, which this year lands on Monday 2 December. In previous years, some retailers have continued their sales in the Tuesday and Wednesday as a ‘final chance’ to shop deals, but we expect the majority of deals to end on Cyber Monday.
What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the entire year. In the US, it marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping period. It made its way across the Atlantic in 2010, and has since become the biggest date in the UK’s shopping calendar.
Most UK retailers now take part in Black Friday in one way or another, with sales lasting anywhere from 24 hours to several days and even weeks before the actual date.
Over the year’s, Black Friday has morphed from an in-store event into a digit-first sale. You can still brave the high-street in search of a bargain should you wish to. But you’ll no longer need to contend with crowds of shoppers camping outside department stores.
That’s because the real competition is now online. Once Black Friday enters its busiest period (typically starting the week prior), in-demand products routinely sell-out the same day and in some cases the same hour that sales go live.
How to Find the Best Deals
During Black Friday, it can be difficult to differentiate between fake deals and those that are genuine, so it’s worth remaining cautious when shopping.
In 2022, Which? found that 98% of products that were on sale at seven major home and tech retailers on Black Friday in 2021 were actually cheaper or the same as their Black Friday price at other times in the year. So, it pays to be cautious.
During Black Friday, it also isn’t always obvious when you’ve found a good deal. Follow these steps to ensure you don’t waste your money.
- Check prices at other retailers: When you spot a deal, check how much the same product is on other sites if you can. That way you can compare each retailer’s discounts against one another.
- Price tracker tools: If you’re shopping on Amazon, the CamelCamelCamel web browser plugin will show you a product’s entire price history on the site. For other retailers, you can search for a product’s price history on PriceSpy or Pricerunner. These tools aren’t perfect, but they give you a good idea how genuine a deal is.
- Ask yourself: ‘Do I need it?’: As Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert, advises: ‘Before spending, ask yourself, do I need it? Can I afford it? If the answer is no to any of those, DON’T buy it. Remember, it’s not a saving if you weren’t going to buy it anyway.’
- Check on our pages: We ensure that every product featured in our Black Friday pages are not only genuine deals but are also actually worth buying.
