The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) has entered into a multi-year partnership with Beyond Meat, making the company the official plant-based protein partner of the PLL. This partnership provides the league’s athletes with access to Beyond Meat’s products throughout the season.
Fueling elite performance with plant protein
The Premier Lacrosse League, founded by Paul and Mike Rabil, is a men’s professional lacrosse league in the United States with eight teams and a focus on elite athleticism. The partnership will officially kick off with the 2025 PLL season and will feature on-field branding, digital content collaborations, and fan engagement activities throughout the year.
As part of the deal, Beyond Meat will supply its plant-based protein products to all eight PLL teams. The company’s products will be incorporated into the teams’ meal programs and nutrition plans, offering athletes a clean and protein-rich source of fuel to support their performance.
Why athletes need clean protein
Paul Rabil, co-founder and president of the PLL, explained the importance of quality nutrition for elite athletes: “Lacrosse players demand the highest quality nutrition to compete at an elite level. Clean ingredients and complete protein profiles help athletes play hard and recover fast, which is why it’s so important to partner with a brand that supports performance and longevity in sport.”
Beyond Meat’s plant-based proteins are designed to provide the complete amino acid profile required for muscle recovery and performance, while being free from antibiotics, hormones, and GMOs.
Co-branded promos
In addition to the nutritional benefits for athletes, the collaboration also includes community initiatives aimed at promoting health, wellness, and environmental sustainability. Fans will have the opportunity to engage with Beyond Meat products at various PLL events and through co-branded content and promotions.
Drew Lufkin, Senior Vice President of Growth at Beyond Meat, stated, “Professional lacrosse players represent some of the most dynamic and versatile athletes in sports. We’re excited to partner with the PLL to demonstrate how plant-based nutrition can fuel elite athletic performance while supporting a more sustainable food system,”
