Eat Just has expanded its plant-based product line with the nationwide launch of its Just Meat chicken substitute in more than 3,000 Walmart stores across all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
After six years of research and development, Just Meat has been independently tested by Nichols Research and found to outperform conventional chicken in taste and preference, according to the company.
“This is the first time most consumers prefer plant-based chicken over animal chicken. That changes things”
Just Meat offers 18 grams of protein per serving and contains no cholesterol. It is also non-GMO, available in four flavors—Original, Buffalo, Sesame Ginger, and Chili Lime—and sold by the half-pound at various retail locations.
Nationwide rollout
In addition to Walmart, Just Meat is now available at several regional grocery chains, including Sprouts, H-E-B, Giant, Hannaford, Albertsons United, and others. This nationwide rollout follows the initial launch in August and introduction in Texas at H-E-B in September.
Josh Tetrick, CEO of Eat Just, remarked, “This is the first time most consumers prefer plant-based chicken over animal chicken. That changes things.”
