Symrise, a global supplier of fragrances, flavorings, cosmetic active ingredients, and functional ingredients, is set to unveil various taste solutions for plant-based products at the Bridge2Food Course & Summit Europe 2025.
Taking place in The Hague from June 3-5, Bridge2Food aims to bring together the world’s leading alternative protein creators. Symrise will be at booth I6, showcasing products such as heat-stable plant-based meat profiles, oat yogurt, and milk and cheese alternatives. The products have reportedly been developed using proprietary technology to ensure an optimal taste profile and authentic mouthfeel.
Symrise will also present its protein solutions™ and symlife™ taste balancing technologies, which can mask unwanted off notes, optimize mouthfeel, improve flavor release, and ensure product stability. Furthermore, the company will show how it uses modern sensory insights, consumer data, and technological innovations to accelerate the market success of plant-based foods.
By participating in Bridge2Food, Symrise hopes to forge partnerships, identify market trends early, and help shape the next generation of plant-based foods in collaboration with customers. The company previously attended the summit last year.
Bridge2Food Course
This year, Symrise will participate in the Bridge2Food Course, which takes place before the summit, for the first time. The course is aimed at a professional audience with advanced technical expertise.
As part of the course, Symrise will conduct practical workshops for small groups of specialists, showing how data-driven consumer insights can help decode consumer preferences and develop successful plant-based culinary products.
At the workshop “Designing Superior Plant-Based Chicken Taste”, taking place on June 3 at 2:45 p.m., Dr. Katja Tiitinen will show how data-driven sensory technology and advanced flavor tools can help develop superior taste solutions in plant-based chicken. Then, at the summit presentation “Tech meets Taste – The Future of Ingredient Innovation” on June 4 at 4:30 p.m., René Fonteijn will demonstrate how Symrise overcomes technological hurdles in plant-based milk alternatives to shorten development times.
“Our proprietary technologies enable us to predict certain taste effects within a formulation matrix,” said René Fonteijn, Senior Category Manager Plant-Based Dairy Alternatives at Symrise. “Therefore, we can provide guidance on which substances to use and which to avoid. Additionally, our versatile flavor portfolio and our symlife™ and inspiring protein solutions™ ensure excellent taste within the final market product.”
